Mustard seeds are from scientific family of Brassica juncea. These seeds have been known since times immemorial as oil seeds. Plants in mustard family are cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprouts etc.

Black Mustard seeds are most commonly used by the oil industry & the animal feed industry due to its distinct flavour. It is a primary ingredient used in most of the Indian cuisine. Its seeds and leaves have immense medicinal properties.

These seeds are considered an essential spice in many regional foods and may come in three forms: black mustard seeds, brown mustard seeds, or white mustard seeds. By flavor and aroma, yellow mustard seeds (also called white) are the mildest, while brown and black mustard seeds are much more sizzling and spicy.

These seeds are often used as part of spice rubs for roasting meat, pickling spice mixes. They are used to make homemade mustard. Yellow mustard seeds are a great source of dietary fiber, protein, calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and phosphorus
